Here are 3 possibilities that you might want to start with:
Alternative #1: John William “Blind” Boone Ragtime – Early Jazz Festival – Columbia, Missouri. Let the horns blare and the music flow through the town with the ragtime and early jazz festival. This two day event is held on the Sunday following the first Thursday in June. The festival is the perfect time to show off the indigenous music, the music that people come from all over the world to hear, right here in Missouri!
Alternative #2: Liberty Memorial – Kansas City, Missouri. This is the only national museum to honor those who gave their lives in WWI. Dedicated by President Calvin Coolidge in 1926, it was intended to be the only monument to world conflict, but that distinction was not to last as World War II began just 13 years later in 1939.
Alternative #3: While you are in Missouri you will definitely want to visit the wonderful Grant’s Farm. This wildlife preserve and historical site is owned by Anheuser-Busch, Inc. The Farm is home to more than 1,000 animals representing more than 100 different species from six continents. The Farm takes its name from our 18th President, Ulysses S. Grant, who in the 1850s farmed a portion of the 281 acres.
