Here are three Colorado vacation locations that you may want to consider:

Applefest – Cedaredge, Colorado. Come and enjoy the wide variety of things made from apples at this annual celebration. There is music including folk, gospel, blues, country, rock, bluegrass and more as well as displays from local, regional and national artists. The music begins daily during the festival at 10 am.

Petrified Wood Gas Station (now a Tire Shop) – Lamar, Colorado. In 1932 a guy by the name of W. G. Brown was trying to figure out how to attract business to his gas station. He wanted something different that would catch the eye (and therein the dollars) of the tourists going by on highway 287. What he came up with still stands today, it was to build a gas station out of petrified wood.

Academy Riding Stables – Colorado Springs, Colorado. When you go “out west” for a vacation you probably want to do some horseback riding. It’s part of the American West and certainly a part of the great Colorado Vacation experience.
