The impact of rising oil prices continues, and green taxes are a distinct possibility within a few years. So if you’re looking forward to the “holiday of your life” some time in the future, you’d be well advised to go as soon as you can.

Even though the oil has started flowing in reasonable quantities from the Iraq oilfields at last, after the lengthy problems stemming from the American invasion, there is no sign of the price of oil falling any time soon, if ever – in fact, they have just jumped another $2 a barrel.

Even if the landmark vacation you’re planning for is a cruise, the oil price will still make a difference, since cruise liners also use oil for fuel, as the recent news stories surrounding Carnival Cruises and others’ fuel surcharges have highlighted.

All this adds up to a good reason to make your lifetime trip sooner rather than later, while you can still afford it.
