Discover The Fun Of Finding Cheap Phoenix Airfare!

December 10th, 2008 at 01:25pm Under Air travel tickets+ Attractions

The Grand Canyon from the South Rim

It doesn’t matter what you love doing, you will able to discover it in Arizona.

If you love golf, there are some of the most challenging golf courses anywhere situated in the Phoenix metropolitan area.

If you want to discover the heritage of the native American way of life you can do that in and around Phoenix as well.

Just look for the Phoenix air fare and book your flight to come and explore this wonderful adventure called Arizona.

Once you fly into Phoenix, the state awaits you at your feet. You can go north to Flagstaff and explore the natural beauty of this mountain forest or go to Sedona and see some of the most talented creative art anywhere. The red mountains are a sight to see and the town brimming with artists featuring their fabulous work.

As you are flying into Phoenix you can see some of the natural glory of this area whether it is flying over the Grand Canyon or the mountains surrounding the city. You will see desert area and developed areas as you fly in.

Golfing is featured at some of the top resorts in the country where the courses are maintained to the professional quality of the likes of Jack Nicklaus, Arnold Palmer and even Tiger Woods. If you have always dreamed to play on a course that would be appreciated by this level of golfer then the Phoenix area is where you have to be. Take your clubs and enjoy the serenity of all of the courses in the area. In Scottsdale alone there are 174 courses for you to choose from – there will certainly be one that fits your dreams and skill requirements.

The temperature in Arizona delivers a wide range of options for your enjoyment. The desert region can reach temperatures well into the 100’s in the summer and at night drop to below freezing in the winter. The mountain region is always around the 80’s and 90’s during the summer but gets snow in the winter. You can ride dirt bikes in the mountains in the summer and snowboard them in the winter.

The cheapest airfares for Arizona are normally in the summer when the temperatures get hot and steamy. If you love the heat you can find some great buys on airline tickets during the summer. Winter is the peak season so ticket costs are often higher. If you shop you can obtain some great values during the spring and fall when the tourism market isn’t as competitive. It’s a great time to visit while the desert is in bloom and the air is crisp and clean.

Fuel prices drop, but what about air fares?

October 14th, 2008 at 02:05pm Under Air travel tickets+ Travel tips

American Airlines recently stopped serving free drinks and started charging for baggage on their flights, when fuel prices were going up exponentially. Now, even though fuel prices have been falling, it seems that they have decided to stick with the new fees.

In an announcement made last week, American Airlines stated that it had decided to “unbundle” its fares. Travelers will be charged a base fare without “frills” (which includes things as basic as a blanket or the choice of seat), and any additional requirement will be charged as an extra.

Apart from causing problems for business travelers, who will most likely be saddled with out of pocket costs which have to be reclaimed via expenses, it is pretty much certain that all passengers will end up losing from this deal. There can be only one motive – to increase profit – after all. My advice (not for the first time): Take a tip from rail travelers and take a picnic basket and a flask with you.

Zoom Airlines does a nosedive

August 29th, 2008 at 08:48pm Under Air travel tickets+ travel news

Zoom aircraft detained at Glasgow airportZoom Airlines Inc., a budget airline based in Canada has suspended all operations and filed for bankruptcy protection. The announcement was made late last night, and was blamed by the founders of the company chiefly on high fuel costs.

Zoom was founded in 2002 and provided cheap flights between destinations in the UK, Canada, US, Europe and the Caribbean. Before the announcement last night, aircraft were detained at Halifax Stanfield International Airport in Canada and Glasgow airport in the UK, leaving passengers stranded.

According to reports from the BBC last night, there is no provision for replacement flights, which means passengers who were expecting to travel with Zoom will have to fund replacement flights out of their own pockets, with little hope of being reimbursed in the near future, if at all.
