Many visitors to the UK choose London for their base when visiting the country. If you're planning to stay in the capital, then let's take a look at some other great locations that can easily be reached for a day trip.
The great thing about staying in London is that it truly is a city that never sleeps. With great entertainment, from musicals to plays, it's a place where you will rarely be short of things to do.
In the evenings, you'll find that England's capital city is a great place to enjoy the nightlife, with top quality restaurants, bars and nightclubs.
Be sure that you get out and explore some of the rest of the country too, though. There are plenty of benefits in spending time away from the city, including getting to see a bit more of the real England.
My own home county, Hampshire, has plenty on offer. You can reach the most Southerly part of the county in less than 90 minutes by car (or train from London Waterloo) and you'll find that the short trip is well worth it.
Hampshire includes one of the UK's newest National Parks, the New Forest. It also has a large number of great unspoilt English villages, complete with thatched cottages, country pubs and village greens. In many ways, this part of the country reflects many visitors' ideas of what England should be like. If you don't leave London and its immediate surroundings then this may well be a part of the country that you'll miss out on.
Any discussion of the joys of a visit to Hampshire would be incomplete without making mention of Winchester. Winchester, the ancient capital of England, can be reached in less than an hour from London and has some great transport links.
It's also heaped in history - this is the place where Jane Austen lived during the final years of her life. It also boasts a Norman Cathedral, the site of William the Conqueror's Castle and its renowned links to King Arthur.
Winchester is a truly mystical place and is part of a wonderful part of the country - be sure not to miss it.

As one of Europe's leading cultural cities Berlin offers many museums, historic sites and other places for a memorable visit. Many landmarks remind us of the long history of Berlin, the remains of the destruction during World War II and its history when it was divided between East and West.
Even though Berlin is a large metropolis, orientating yourself in Berlin isn't hard at all. There are three prominent landmarks: the Church of Remembrance (the Gedächtniskirche), located in the West on the Kurfürstendamm, the Brandenburger Tor in the city district of Mitte, and the Fernsehturm (TV-tower) at Alexanderplatz in the

It's amazing how a person's adventurous spirit gets a wake up call by simply watching a Tarzan re-run.
"Hey," I thought. "I'm due for a holiday. I've always wanted to visit Africa. What about an African Safari?" What about it indeed!
So I rang my local travel centre and posed the question..."What do you have in the way of African Safaris?" The chirpy voice on the other end of the line immediately responded. "Sir, you've certainly come to the right place. What type of safari are you interested in?"
Pausing for a moment just a little confused by her question I replied.

One of the most used departure ports for cruise ships in the Caribbean is San Juan in Puerto Rico. We decided to arrive a day early to San Juan in order to see some sights before our cruise ship departure.
San Juan, known as 'La Ciudad Amurallada' (the
walled city), was founded in 1521 and is the oldest city under
the US flag. During the 16th century, the Spanish used it as a
point of departure for expeditions to the New World.
Fortifications in the Old San Juan section of the city repulsed
numerous attacks from the English and the Dutch during those
years. Today, Old San Juan is a

In 2004, I completed two Inuit art buying trips to Iqaluit
(formerly Frobisher Bay), the capital of Nunavut, Canada's newest
territory. For both trips, I flew out of Ottawa on Canadian North
airlines. The other airline that services Nunavut is First Air.
Only the last half of the jets was allocated for passengers as
the entire first half was for cargo. Being so remote, Canadian
Arctic Inuit communities pretty well have to have everything
shipped up there by plane or by boat during the summers since
there are no roads connecting to the rest of Canada or even
between each Nunavut community. The Arctic landscape from the air
was desolate,
